Character History
Childhood
Knoxx was born with a loving mother and a father who was a loyal Knight to Swadia. As Knoxx grew older, he learned that since his father was never home to teach him how to mature into a man, he must put it upon himself to do so. Not too long after the thought, Knoxx went to the streets of Uxkhal and began to pickpocket, and frequently was involved in fights. His mother, who was a baker for the community market, tended to scold Knoxx for his bad attitude and behavior. When Knoxx was 13 years old, he was caught pickpocketing by a Uxkhal Town Guard, and put in jail for one month for robbery and theft. His mother was fortunate enough to get him out because of his father’s ties to the Kingdom of Swadia as a loyal Knight. Knoxx began to settle down, and decided he wanted to begin to somehow find a way to learn how to read and write. Instead of pickpocketing, Knox would begin to snoop around the town of Uxkhal to find someone who could teach him to readand write. Tylid Henry, an elderly man who knew how to read and write, began to teach Knoxx how to be literate, only if Knoxx would do anything that Tylid wished. Knoxx agreed, and after three months of teaching every day, Tylid Henry passed away. Knoxx was petrified, yet encouraged by his mother to continue where the two had left off. Knoxx’s world was turned upside down when his mother grew ill, and after two weeks of caring for her, his mother passed away. Reading and writing became the last of his worries, and Knoxx was only able to learn how to write simple things, including names. His father returned home from the field and instead of comforting Knoxx, his father blamed Knoxx for his mother's death. “You should have been there for her, boy. You are not a true son,” said his father. It was at this moment Knoxx knew that a relationship with his father was pointless and impossible. Knoxx buried his mother, alone, behind his townhouse, and ran away the next morning. Knoxx was only 14.
Middle Age
From the age of 14, Knoxx wandered the lands of the Kingdom of Swadia until he became 18, at which he decided to join a band of deserters known as the “Brotherhood”. 40 soldiers, ranging from former footmen to Noble Knights, were in the “Brotherhood”, and Knoxx was known as the “Donkey boy” because all Knoxx would do is carry the heavy stuff the men did not want to carry. Knoxx grew tired of this, and picked up a sword for the first time. Trained by the Noble Knights of the “Brotherhood”, Knoxx became a skilled fighter by the time he was the age of 22. Killing and robbing Sea Raiders and Looters made the “Brotherhood” rich with gold and silver, and Knoxx was feeling very confident in his fighting skills. On Knoxx’s 24th birthday, the “Brotherhood” was attacked by a coalition of Sea Raiders, Looters, Robbers, and Deserters. Knoxx and 3 other men were able to escape and survive with their life, and eventually split up to go there separate ways. It wasn’t long until Knoxx found himself back in the town of Uxkhal, where it seemed everything had changed. Uxkhal had just been sieged by the Rhodok King and his Nobles, but ultimately failed. Townhouses were destroyed, many people were missing, and the town was in chaos. While walking around the streets, he found himself standing in front of the inner city keep, where many Swadian Knights were gathered, ready to defend another attack. Something compelled Knoxx to open his mouth, and scream, “GRENNIT!!! COME OUT HERE AND FACE ME.” The gate creaked open, and out came Knoxx’s father, arming sword in hand, Great Winged Helmet on. Knoxx wasted no time, and sprinted at his father with anger in his eyes. He raised his Heavy Bastard Sword above his head and swung as hard as he could. His father dodged it wish ease and sliced Knoxx’s leg, luckily in a non vital location. Knoxx got up, and continued to pursue his father. Blocking each attack, his father grew tired, and was beginning to move slowly. A crowd grew around Knoxx and his father’s duel. Chant’s arose, “KILL THE BOY! PUT HIM DOWN! GET HIM KNIGHT OF SWADIA!” Knoxx felt uneasy, and doubled over in exhaustion. His father lunged forward and sliced up from Knoxx’s stomach to his chest. Bleeding steadily, Knoxx was on his back, looking to the sky, prepared to die. His father stood over him, took his helmet off, and outreached his hand. “Knoxx, I knew this time would come, and prepared myself for this moment.” Knoxx continued to look to the sky, his eyes closing, a large fire stone roaring through the air. People began to scream, and war chants began to occur. The Rhodok King was back to destroy the castle. Knoxx closed his eyes, and passed out. It wasn't until three days later that he awoke with fresh cloth covering him. A mistress walked into his room, and questions commenced. “What happened? How long was I out? Who are you? Where am I? Where is my father?” The mistress answered everything. “You were picked up and taken into the keep by your father, and the Rhodok King was driven out of the castle. Three days. I am your fathers nurse. You are in the keep of Uxkhal. Dead.” No father, and no mother. Questions raced in Knoxx’s head. Knoxx was only 24.
Current
It was not long after he was healed from his injury that Knoxx left Uxkhal yet again to wander the land of Calradia. Running out of gold, Knoxx finally had decided that he needed to join yet another group of deserters and outlaws. When Knoxx was traveling to the village of Nemeja, near the castle of Haringoth, he ran into a large group of bandits. The group numbered around 70 strong men, and had some women and a handful of children. While Knoxx was halted and getting ready to hand over the last of his gold, he bent to his one knee and pleaded to join the group. Without hesitation, they accepted him. “Hurrah!” They screamed. Knoxx was introduced into all the men, women, and children. Some members took him in as one of their own, but some thought of him as just another low rank new member. Traveling began to commence yet again, and after setting up camp one night, they were attacked by a large group of Sea Raiders, Deserters, Looters, and Robbers. It was the same coalition that killed all but 4 members of the “Brotherhood”, and Knoxx went berserk, killing 30 men with only his Heavy Bastard Sword and no armor. With fire torching some of the tents in his camp, Knoxx knelt down from exhaustion, looking up to see the large group retreating back over the hill where they had come from. Right in front of him, Knoxx saw a member of his group catch up to one of the men retreating, and cut his head straight off, then continued to walk right to Knoxx. With an outstretched hand, Knoxx was helped to his two feet. The member took of their helmet, and to Knoxx’s surprise, a beautiful women stood right in front of him. “We never got to meet, but you sure are one good fighter my friend,” said the women. “Same to you m’lady,” Knoxx replied, with a smirk on his face. “I’m Sam,” she said. “Knoxx of Uxkhal,” Knoxx stated back to her. “We will talk later, Knoxx,” she replied, and the two headed off to make sure everything was safe for the women and children. The total casualties ended up being 23 men killed, 16 men injured, and a missing women. The group took up the camp and traveled through the night. Knoxx began to grow close to Sam as they traveled the next few days, and eventually found himself sleeping with her. Days went by, months, then years. The group grew in numbers exponentially, numbering around 200 strong men, 50 women and 20 children. Knoxx turned 30 years old, and was gifted with a child with Sam, a son named Draymond. All was well for the next two years, until everything was turned upside down. Draymond grew ill, and died in a matter of four days. Knoxx was filled with anger and depression, and began to drink excessively. He took out all of his anger on Sam without even knowing it. Sam had taken enough yelling and complaining, and informed the group leader of what was happening. The next week, the group tied Knoxx to a tree in the middle of a forest, and left him. Knoxx was left with a note he could barely read: “For… the… better… good. - Sam”. Knoxx wept, and could not bare to think what Sam would do next. Thus, he loosened himself, and set off, wandering the lands yet again. Knoxx was only 34.
