The topic of "Server Rules" is going to be a heavily discussed and opinionated topic as we approach Season Two of Infinity NA.
With that being said, there are multiple courses we could take in terms of what the ruleset could look like.
For starters, we have the current ruleset, infinityna.freeforums.net/thread/807/infinity-pk-server-rules - which seemed to cause a bit of a problem and a decent amount of complaints due to its vagueness spilled in towards the end of Season One.
And then we have the former ruleset, which is also an adaptation of the Phoenix ruleset. (See below spoiler) The issue with this ruleset was that it had "too many rules and was simply too large."
So, before I have my group discussion in teamspeak with clan leaders and the administration staff, I want to know what the community thinks should happen. Use the current ruleset (above), switch to the former ruleset (below), or use a hybrid of the two or alter one or the other.
Feel free to express your opinions!

Former ruleset:
RDM (Random death match):
You must have a valid kill reason to kill somebody outside of war. Valid reasons can be but are not limited to:
Someone insulted you. (Animations do not count).
Someone aiming at you (Screenshot/Recording needed).
Someone attacking a faction member or engaging in open hostilities with them.
Someone previously robbed you.
Being kicked or punched once.
Being bumped twice.
Someone has given you a (valid) demand (Ie. heal or die)
Ignoring a reasonable demand such as "No loot". etc.
Theft of your or your factions items (Food, Money, Carts) etc.
Kill reasons such as robbing last 20 minutes.
You don't have a kill reason for anything that happened outside of the game (E.G Steam or Teamspeak interactions).
Killbaiting is prohibited(i.e. placing loot only to gain a killreason).
Commoner & Outlaws:
Anyone may rob horses and the entire pouch (This includes taking items from carts while the owner is halted).
Only outlaws may rob for items.
Outlaws do not need to request help to be assisted by other outlaws. Nobody can assist outlaws, nor may outlaws assist anybody.
Players with clear tags (e.g. Bob_Crusader, Joe_Crusader, May_Crusader, etc.) are considered to be in a group and can be treated as a faction. This does not apply to war.
General:
NRR (No revenge rule):
You may not initiate hostilities with your previous assailants unless in a war or skirmish. (You may return to help your faction members if the skirmish is still on-going, but if the skirmish is over you may not then go and attack your previous killers.)
You may attack your killers for saying 'No loot' and you are allowed to loot even when told not to.
NRR will last for 15 minutes.
Warzones:
Any area where two factions are engaging in is considered a war zone. If you aren't part of the war and die in one, itβs your own fault. This isn't an excuse to RDM. Just because you hit somebody in a warzone doesn't give you a reason to kill them if they leave it. For example, if a commoner is running around a castle at war and gets shot and leaves the castle, you can't pursue and kill him because he was in a warzone.
Anyone attempting to join a faction or enter a castle under siege may be killed. Anyone with similar clan tags entering a castle (Eg. The Christians are being sieged, and Sam_Christian is coming as a commoner) may be killed.
War rules:
You may war anybody for any reason, though you must say in global that you are declaring war on a faction like so: War X (Eg. War Saxony, War Antioch, War Normandy)
A legitimate capture attempt must be made within 15 minutes by either side or the war must be peaced. Valid attempts must be renewed every 15 minutes. A valid attempt means that it must be at least 50% of your faction.
You may not declare a war to disguise RDM or to waste another players time by preventing them to log off or blatantly baiting them to log on.
You cannot declare, keep or be at war with a faction which has no land.
You have one minute to clear a castle after it has been captured, else it must be peaced.
The peaced/warred-upon faction may re-declare within a 30-second timer without the need to state it in the chat. EDITED
Default wars from server restarts are not seen as legitimate wars and will, therefore, be considered RDM. Peacing them is a requirement.
At least 70% of your faction and 100% of your banners must be in your castle, an allied castle or the Mercenary camp before you declare.
You can't declare war on a faction while your own faction members are inside their castle.
Allies are considered by either putting A:// Ally's Name in your name or on the diplomacy section on the steam group.
You may not log in a castle with a banner during an active war.
You must wait 15 minutes after peacing a war before you are able to re-war the same faction again. (However, the faction that you peaced, may re-war you instantly if they choose to do so.)
When a faction declares war on a faction that's color may closely correspond with their own, the defending faction in the war must change their color as to not confuse the factions during the war.
Combat logging:
You may not log out during a hostile situation or 40 seconds after one.
Being chased is considered a hostile situation. Unless the chase is done for 40 seconds, you may not log out. Screenshots must be provided to determine what is and what is not a chase.
Logging out on mass during an active war is not permitted under any circumstances. You may log out individually (ie. you yourself have to go, you eat dinner), mass logging of a faction in a castle under active siege is considered Combat-Logging. Logging people off in increments to make it look like you're logging off individually will be punished. However if a valid attempt is not made within 15 minutes and the other faction refuses to push, you are permitted to mass log off. The High-Command responsible for the Mass-Logging will be held responsible for the actions of the entire clan and will receive the punishment for them.
Combat logs will start with one day bans and increase in punishment as ever often as they occur.
Demanding:
You may not issue a demand resulting in a die or die situation. Eg. Jump off the bridge or die, "Halt" when they are fighting someone
You must give someone 10 seconds to comply with a demand (The only exception for this is "halt" where a reasonable amount of time, 5 seconds, must be given for the player to comply).
You may not demand a player to not speak or to speak in any chat (Local, Global or Faction).
You can't demand someone to insult another player/faction etc.
The word heal is not a demand, however heal or die would be considered a demand.
You may not say no loot on another players kill in order to gain a kill reason.
You may only demand someone to leave an area if it is on your own clan's/faction's land.
You cannot demand someone to join your faction (and work/fight for that faction).
When demanding anything from anyone, you must include their name or faction/clan name. "Leave Clarky," Sheathe Clarky," "Leave Tyrell/Baratheon/Templars/Lannister/etc".
Help:
You must ask for help in local chat in order to be assisted in a fight by anyone not in your faction (excluding war)
Looting rule:
If you kill someone, their loot is yours. You may kill anyone seen looting it within a 60-second time-frame. If there is a siege, you may kill anybody looting during the fighting and for a minute after the fighting ends. You loot at your own risk.
Halting:
When halting you need to say the name, eg. "Halt Jim". If you just say "Halt" it is invalid.
You must either halt every single member in a group, or you can halt by faction name e.g "Christians halt".
You can only halt the same person/group every fifteen minutes.
You can show pouch by holding shift and pressing f12, then holding c and pressing reveal money pouch to target.
You cannot halt for armor or for weapons. UNLESS YOU ARE AN OUTLAW CLARIFIED
You may halt someone for a horse. CLARIFIED
You may not halt someone that is already at war (that you obviously are not at war with). CLARIFIED
Imprisonment:
You may only imprison someone for a maximum of 15 minutes.
You may not kill a prisoner if their faction does not pay a ransom.
You may only imprison people who are trespassing on your land.
In the case of imprisonment, all demands formulated to the prisoners MUST BE reasonable. Demands may not be used to abuse the system and to bait for kill reasons. Admins reserve the right to decide if a demand is reasonable or not.
In-Game Complaint and Admins:
To request an admin, put a single message in admin chat (backspace) explaining what happened, when and who was involved; also include the color of the faction you may be in.
Do not spam admin chat! Message once or if they fail to reply within 20 minutes send another or make a forum complaint.
You cannot attack someone who is talking to an admin wearing admin armor.
Admin heals:
Admins can heal for 5000 gold under 50 players. Ask an admin for a heal by pressing Backspace.
Admin heals cannot be given while a faction is at war.
Peacing a war, getting a heal and redeclaring or joining commoners to get an admin heal to loophole the no admin heals during war is against the rules.
Exploiting glitches/bug abusing:
Abusing scripts to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited.
For example, using a shield when capturing a castle to avoid damage is explicitly illegal.
The use of weapons for attacking through solid objects (I,e. piking through a solid door) is also illegal.
Carts may not be used to obstruct or inhibit other players. For example, using a cart to obstruct movement in a siege scenario.
Horses may not be used to block spawns.
Grieving:
Killing animals for no reason is considered griefing and will be punished.
Cart blocking in any circumstance will result in punishment.
Depleting stocks of a castle is considered griefing.
When Official factions get on and wish to use their banner, and another faction controls it, they may have that faction change banner to allow them the use of their banner. (Failure to do so will be considered grieving).
Impersonation. Using an official or reserved clan's tags or name as your faction name without you being within, apart of, that particular clan.
Admin Disclaimer:
Admins reserve the right to issue punishments at their own discretion, bans may vary in length depending on the situation and on the player's attitude to the complaint, and there is no set template for punishments, every complaint is different.
Admins reserve the right to force players to accept refunds in complaints.
Admins are not required to help you when not wearing Admin Tags (TA, A, HA & SO). If no admins are online you are asked to make a forum complaint. You shouldn't call an admin on to solve your problem, but obvious exceptions would include Mass RDM and other incidents that affect a large amount of the server population.
Other:
If you can't comprehend the rules, you'll be banned until you pass a test.
Harboring banned/ban evading members in your clan will result in severe punishment.
Do not attempt to loophole this ruleset.
If you have a kill reason that is not identifiable in the logs, it is your responsibility to provide the evidence.
Building ladders on castles of factions at war that you are not at war with as well as destroying their gates (and in accordance to the halt rule above) is war interference. CLARIFIED
Doxxing, DDoSing, or the threats of such actions, ARE NOT tolerated on the forums, the server, or the steam page (or elsewhere for that fact).
Rules changed recently will be highlighted to show the change more clearly to all players.
